Immediate Dentures

Losing your teeth is a hard enough decision without the question that keeps most people up at night: “Will I have to walk around with no teeth?” With immediate dentures, the answer is no. We design and make your denture before your extraction appointment, so the day your teeth come out is the same day your new teeth go in. You never go without a smile, not even for an afternoon.

What are immediate dentures?

An immediate denture is a full or partial denture that is made ahead of your extraction date and placed the moment your teeth are removed. Here is how that is possible: at a visit before your extraction, we take a digital 3D scan of your mouth (no goopy impression trays), and we design and craft your denture in advance, using our in-house 3D printer or our lab. On extraction day, Dr. Abboud removes the teeth and seats your finished denture in the same appointment.

That timing is the whole point. The traditional route left people waiting weeks or months for their gums to heal before a denture could even be started. An immediate denture flips the order: the denture is ready and waiting before the first tooth ever comes out.

Immediate vs. same-day dentures: they are not the same thing

People often use these words interchangeably, and the difference matters when you are planning your care. Both exist so you are never stuck without teeth, but they solve two different problems:

  • Immediate dentures are for people who still have teeth that need to come out. We scan and make the denture before your extraction date, so you walk out with teeth on the day of your extraction.
  • Same-day dentures are dentures we can print the same day: you come in for a scan in the morning and, for an expedited fee, leave with your denture later that day. That speed is possible because we print dentures right here in the office.

Not sure which one fits your situation? That is exactly what the first visit is for. We will look at your teeth, talk through the timeline, and give you a straight answer with real numbers.

How immediate dentures work here

  1. Planning visit. We examine your teeth and gums, take a digital 3D scan, and plan your extraction and denture together, including your exact cost.
  2. Your denture is made before extraction day. Using the scan, we craft your denture ahead of time with our in-house digital workflow, so it is ready and waiting.
  3. Extraction day. Dr. Abboud removes the teeth that need to come out and places your new denture in the same visit. You leave with a full smile.
  4. Healing and relines. Your gums naturally change shape as they heal, so we include a soft reline in the first couple of weeks to keep the fit comfortable, and we plan for a final reline or a fresh denture once healing is complete.

Why patients choose ours

  • You are never without teeth. Because the denture exists before the extraction, there is no toothless gap, no hiding your smile at work or around your grandkids.
  • Digital scans, no goopy molds. A comfortable 3D scan replaces the impression trays most people dread.
  • Made with our in-house 3D printing. Our SprintRay printer gives us control over fit, speed, and adjustments that offices shipping everything to an outside lab cannot match. It is also what makes our 3D-printed dentures among the most affordable in the area.
  • One team, one roof. The extractions, the denture, the relines, and any future implant upgrade all happen with the same team that planned your case.
  • A track record you can check. Patients across Nash County have given us a 4.9-star rating across 480 Google reviews.

What immediate dentures cost

Immediate dentures start at $2,734 per arch, and that includes the early soft reline as your gums heal. Your exact number depends on how many teeth are involved and whether extractions are simple or surgical, so you will get a complete quote at your planning visit, before anything happens. VIP Membership Plan members save 20%, and financing is available through Cherry, Sunbit, and CareCredit. For the full picture of denture pricing, see our denture cost guide.

Healing honestly: what to expect

We would rather tell you the truth up front than surprise you later. Gums shrink as they heal after extractions, which means an immediate denture that fits perfectly on day one will feel looser over the following months. That is normal, it happens to everyone, and it is why the soft reline is built into your fee and why we plan a final reline or replacement denture once healing settles. Most patients are eating comfortably again within a few weeks, starting with softer foods and working up.

Thinking further ahead: implants

Many patients start with an immediate denture and later choose to secure it with dental implants, so it snaps firmly in place and never slips. Dr. Abboud places implants in-house, and an immediate denture today keeps that door open for tomorrow.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Will I really leave with teeth the day my teeth are pulled?
A: Yes. Your denture is designed and made before your extraction appointment, so it is ready to place the moment your teeth are removed. You never go without teeth.

Q: What is the difference between immediate dentures and same-day dentures?
A: Immediate dentures are made before your extraction date so you walk out with teeth after your teeth are removed. Same-day dentures are printed the same day: scan in the morning, denture later that day, for an expedited fee. Both are made in-house.

Q: How far before my extraction do I need to come in?
A: Enough time for a planning visit and a scan so your denture is ready by extraction day. Call or text (252) 478-3422 and we will map the timeline around your schedule.

Q: How much do immediate dentures cost?
A: They start at $2,734 per arch, including the early soft reline while your gums heal. VIP members save 20%, and financing is available through Cherry, Sunbit, and CareCredit. You get your exact quote at the planning visit.

Q: Will my immediate denture need adjustments?
A: Yes, and that is planned for. Gums change shape as they heal, so a soft reline is included early on, with a final reline or a fresh denture once healing is complete.

Q: Can I eat normally with immediate dentures?
A: Expect a short adjustment period. Most patients start with softer foods and are eating comfortably within a few weeks as the fit settles and relines are done.

Q: Can I add implants later to hold my denture in place?
A: Yes. Many patients upgrade to implant-supported overdentures down the road, and Dr. Abboud places implants right here in-house.
