Implant-Supported Bridges

An implant bridge replaces several missing teeth in a row using just two implants: one at each end, with the replacement teeth spanning between them. For patients around Spring Hope, Rocky Mount, and Nashville who’ve lost three or four teeth to decay, gum disease, or an old accident, it’s often the most efficient fix there is. Fewer implants than replacing each tooth individually, no removable partial, and no grinding down the healthy teeth you have left.

How an Implant Bridge Works

Think of a traditional bridge, then move it off your natural teeth. A conventional bridge anchors to the teeth beside the gap, which means shaving those teeth down to stubs to fit crowns over them. An implant bridge anchors to two implants instead. Dr. Abboud places an implant at each end of the gap, lets them fuse with the bone, then attaches a custom bridge across them. Three or four teeth restored, zero natural teeth sacrificed.

The bridge is fixed. It doesn’t come out at night, doesn’t need adhesive, and doesn’t shift when you eat. You brush it like your other teeth and clean underneath it the way we’ll show you at delivery.

When an Implant Bridge Beats Single Implants

If you’re missing three teeth in a row, replacing each one with its own implant works, but it’s usually more surgery and more money than the situation calls for. Two implants carrying a three-tooth bridge gets you the same fixed result with less hardware. That’s the honest math, and it’s the option we’ll recommend when your anatomy supports it. It’s also the indicated choice when the ridge in the middle of the gap has shrunk too much to support an implant there.

Single implants win when the missing teeth aren’t adjacent, when you want each tooth independently cleanable, or when bite forces in your case call for it. The 3D scan at your consult settles which way makes sense, and either way, you’ll leave with your exact price in writing.

Implant bridge compared to a removable partial denture in Spring Hope NC

When It Beats a Partial Denture

A removable partial does the job at a lower cost, and for some patients that’s the right call. We make excellent partial dentures in-house. But a partial rests on your gums and hooks onto your remaining teeth. It moves a little when you chew, it comes out at night, and the bone under it keeps shrinking over the years. An implant bridge is fixed, loads the bone like natural roots, and doesn’t ask your other teeth to carry the load. If you’ve been wearing a partial and you’re tired of it, this is usually the upgrade patients are actually asking for.

Dr. Abboud’s Take

“An implant bridge replaces three or four teeth on two implants. Would I ideally love an implant under every tooth? Sure, when the bone allows it. But sometimes the ridge in the middle of the gap has shrunk too much to support an implant, and a bridge is exactly the right tool. It also costs meaningfully less. I’ll give you the numbers and an honest read on each option, and you choose what’s best for you.”

What’s Included

Implant bridge cases vary more than single teeth: how many teeth, how many implants, what shape the bone is in. So your price depends on your case, but it works exactly like everything else here. After your $99 scan, you get one exact number in writing that includes the implants, any extractions and grafting your case needs, the abutments, and the bridge itself. The price you see is the price you pay. Whatever your case needs inside your package, grafts, membrane, all of it, the number doesn’t change.

For reference, our single-tooth packages run $4,999 and $5,999 all-in, and full-arch options are on our cost page. Your bridge quote will sit between those worlds, and you’ll have it in writing before you decide anything.

The Timeline

Implant bridges follow the same rhythm as single implants: scan and plan, place the implants, let them heal for 6 to 12 weeks while the bone fuses, then attach the bridge. Start to finish, most cases run about 3 to 5 months. If you’d like teeth in the gap while things heal, especially toward the front, we can make you a flipper, a light temporary fabricated in-house. It’s an optional add-on rather than part of the package, and like everything else here, it’s quoted up front in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many implants do I need for three missing teeth?
Usually two, one at each end of the gap, with the bridge spanning between them. Longer gaps sometimes call for a third implant in the middle. Your 3D scan gives the exact answer.

Can implant bridges replace all my back teeth?
Yes. Back-tooth gaps are actually where implant bridges shine, because partials back there tend to be the least comfortable and bridges can’t anchor to anything behind the gap. Two implants can restore an entire side’s chewing power.

How long does an implant bridge last?
The implants themselves routinely last decades with good home care and regular checkups. The bridge on top is built for many years of service and can be replaced down the road without redoing the implants.

Is it cheaper than separate implants for each tooth?
Almost always, when the missing teeth are adjacent. Two implants and one bridge involve less surgery and less hardware than three or four individual implants. We’ll show you both numbers if your case could go either way.
