Flipper & Interim Dentures

Need a temporary tooth replacement while you wait for a permanent solution? Spring Hope Family Dentistry offers flipper dentures and interim dentures — affordable, quick-turnaround options to keep you smiling during treatment.

Whether you’re healing from an extraction, waiting for implants, or need a short-term solution while deciding on a permanent option, Dr. Elie Abboud will help you find the right temporary prosthetic for your situation.

What’s the Difference? Flippers vs. Interim Dentures

Flipper dentures (also called unilateral partials) are small, lightweight partials that typically replace 1–2 teeth. They’re called “flippers” because they can be flipped in and out easily.

Interim dentures are more comprehensive temporary prosthetics — either complete or partial — designed to be worn for a defined period while you transition to a permanent denture or wait for implants to heal.

When Are Temporary Dentures Used?

  • After extractions — While your gums heal before a permanent denture is made
  • During implant healing — Covering the gap while your implants integrate (3–6 months)
  • As a bridge to treatment — When you need time to plan or budget for a permanent solution
  • Quick cosmetic fix — Replacing a visible front tooth immediately after loss

Interim & Flipper Dentures Starting at $925

Your cost depends on whether you need a flipper (1–2 teeth), an interim partial, or an interim complete denture, as well as the materials used. During your consultation, Dr. Abboud will evaluate your situation and provide a clear estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long can I wear an interim denture?
Interim dentures are designed for temporary use — typically a few months to a year. They’re not built for long-term daily wear like permanent dentures, but they’ll serve you well while you transition.

Can I eat with a flipper?
Yes, though flippers are best for soft to moderate foods. They’re primarily cosmetic — for serious chewing function, a partial denture is a better choice.

How fast can I get one?
Our 3D-printed interim dentures can be ready in as few as 3 business days. Flippers are typically ready quickly as well.

Will my insurance cover a temporary denture?
Many insurance plans cover interim prosthetics. Call us and we’ll verify your coverage before your appointment.

Digital Impressions — No Goopy Molds

Hate the gagging and discomfort of traditional impression material? So do we. At Spring Hope Family Dentistry, we use digital intraoral scanners instead of messy putty impressions for your dentures. The scanner captures a precise 3D map of your mouth in minutes — it’s faster, more comfortable, and produces a more accurate fit than traditional molds. Just one more reason patients from across the region choose us for their denture care.
